Experienced RiderCourse

For riders who already have the basic skills and want an endorsement or more practice on their own motorcycle. You provide your own bike for training.

About this course

The Experienced RiderCourse is designed for riders who want to obtain a motorcycle endorsement or just wanting more practice on their own motorcycle. Successful completion will waive both the written and the riding test for a motorcycle endorsement at the Colorado DMV.

What You Need to Know:

  • Online Classroom (approximately 4 hours)
  • Approximately 6 hours of riding time

This is a 1-day course that consists of a 4-hour eCourse and approximately 6 hours of on-cycle instruction. The eCourse can be done in the comfort of your own home and at your own pace. Upon arrival for your first class session, you must present a copy of your eCourse Completion Certificate to your RiderCoach. Without this certification, you will not be able to participate in your scheduled class and will lose your full registration fee. At the end of the riding session, you will conclude the class by taking both a written and a riding test. The online portion must be completed no more than 30 days before your riding class.

Participants are required to use their own street-legal motorcycles for this level of training to better help them understand the dynamics of their bike in the areas of accelerating, braking, leaning, and slow speed maneuvers. You will need to provide us with proof of insurance and current registration when you arrive for your scheduled class.

The course concludes with a written knowledge test and hands-on riding skill evaluation. Once successful with the eCourse, the knowledge test, and your skills evaluation, you will receive a course completion card that you will need to take to the Colorado DMV within 180 days to obtain your motorcycle endorsement.

Required Riding Gear:

  • Sturdy, over-the-ankle boots (avoid shoes with a heel)
  • Denim or sturdy pants (no holes or tears)
  • Full-fingered gloves (preferably leather)
  • Long Sleeve shirt or jacket
  • Eye protection (sunglasses, prescription, safety glasses, or the visor on a full-faced helmet)
  • DOT-certified ¾ or full-faced helmet (one may be provided if you don't have one)

What's included

Bring your own street-legal motorcycle, with proof of insurance and current registration.

Prerequisites

Basic riding skills (able to ride an offset and straight-line weave) and a valid driver's license or permit.
