Privacy Policy
Last updated July 24, 2026
Motorcycle Rider Training Center ("MRTC", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you visit this website or sign up for a class, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
When you register for a class we collect the information the State of Colorado and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation require us to hold for every student:
- Your name, date of birth, and gender
- Your mailing address, email address, and phone number
- Your driver license or state ID number, the issuing state, and its expiration date
- Your riding experience
- If you request military pricing, your branch, your status, and your DoD ID number
- Your acceptance of our liability waiver and enrollment policies
If you write to us through the Contact page we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. If you buy a gift certificate we collect the names and email addresses of the buyer and the recipient.
Payment information
Class payments and gift certificates are processed by Stripe. Your card number, expiration date, and security code are entered directly into Stripe's secure payment form and are never sent to or stored on our servers. We keep only a record of the amount, the date, and a Stripe reference number, which is what lets us confirm your enrollment and issue a refund.
Information collected automatically
This site is served through Cloudflare, which records standard technical details about every request, including your IP address, your browser type, and the pages you open. We use your IP address briefly and in memory only, to limit how often a single visitor can submit a form, which is how we keep the site free of spam and abuse. We do not store IP addresses in our own student records.
We do not use Google Analytics or any other service that tracks visitors across the web. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not follow you to other websites.
Our Contact page shows a Google Map of the training range. Loading that map sends your IP address and browser information to Google, under Google's own privacy policy. It is the only outside content on the site that sees you.
Cookies and browser storage
We set no cookies at all on our public pages. None for tracking, none for analytics, none for advertising or retargeting. Cookies are set only when a staff member or RiderCoach signs in to the private admin area, and they exist solely to keep that person signed in.
Your browser may keep a few small preferences from this site, such as whether you dismissed a promotional banner. Those stay on your device and are never sent to us.
How we use your information
We use what we collect to:
- Enroll you in the class you chose and hold your seat
- Send your confirmation, welcome letter, e-course link, class reminders, and any schedule changes
- Take payment, apply promotions and gift certificates, and issue refunds
- Report your course completion to the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and the Colorado MOST program so your license waiver is on record
- Answer your questions and provide customer service
- Keep the records we are required to keep, and protect the site from fraud and abuse
Who we share it with
We share your information only where it is necessary to run the training program:
- The Motorcycle Safety Foundation and the Colorado MOST program. Our staff enter student records for completed courses into MSF's Rider Education System (RES), the state's system of record for endorsement waivers. Your waiver does not count without it.
- Stripe, our payment processor, for the payment itself.
- Our hosting and email providers, who store our data and deliver our messages on our behalf under their own security and confidentiality obligations. These are Cloudflare and Supabase.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we never hand it to advertisers.
How long we keep it
We keep student records, including your course result and the payment record, for as long as we run the training program. They are the evidence behind your license waiver and our reporting obligations. If you would like your information removed and you have no active or upcoming class, contact us and we will remove whatever we are not required to keep.
Keeping your information safe
Student records are reachable only by MRTC staff and RiderCoaches who need them, each through their own password-protected account. The site is served over an encrypted connection, and card data never reaches our systems at all. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take these safeguards seriously.
Your choices
- See or correct your registration. Use Find my registration with your email address and confirmation link, or call the office and we will read it back to you.
- Class emails. Confirmations, reminders, and schedule changes are part of your enrollment, so every student receives them. Tell us if you would rather we called instead.
- Ask about your data. You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us below and we will answer as quickly as we can.
Students under 18
Riders as young as 14 may enroll, and a parent or legal guardian must sign the liability waiver in person at the range. We collect the same information for a minor student as for an adult, supplied by the parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 14, and this website is not directed at young children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we will post the revised policy on this page and update the date above.
